Inland Northwest Honor Flight
Inland Northwest Honor Flight's mission is to transport Inland Northwest war Veterans to Washington DC to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. Support for these trips is provided by volunteers, and is at no cost to the veterans. Top priority is given to our most senior hero survivors of WWII, and veterans with a terminal illness who wish to visit the memorial. INHF currently has funding to send only 70 of the 220 World War II veterans on the waiting list to Washington DC to see the memorials that were dedicated in honor of the American soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, merchant marines, coast guardsmen, and all who have served in ANY American war. These escorted trips are absolutely free to the veterans thanks to donations from the public.
The trips are not just a sight-seeing tour for these veterans. Many have told us the trip is life changing. The trips have allowed them to better deal with very real and very horrifying memories of the war, of lost comrades, lost buddies, lost family members, lost innocence. The trips have also allowed them to see that the American public, even after 67-plus years, are still grateful for their service and sacrifice. Our intent is to carry on and provide this same trip to veterans of the wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and many "conflicts" in between.
